There’s pimento cheese, and then there’s Papa’s Pimento Cheese – born in the deep South and developed over generations. In a culture where food was love and each generation added their own special touch, what is now Papa’s Pimento Cheese came to fruition in 1929 when Lucius Donald Jordan, Jr. (Papa) was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi.

Surrounded by family cooks, such as Elva Minerva, Susie Claire, Sara Beth and Siss, he also developed a great love for cooking himself, but there was nothing he loved quite as much as the family recipe for pimento cheese. He tweaked it as those before him had with the help of his wife, Marlene (“Grammy”) until they came up with the pimento cheese of today which became not only a family favorite, but also a favorite of friends and customers.

The demand for it grew until it became a grocery store and household staple. While the secret of it is in the combination of cheeses and spices, its essence lies in the generations of love which went into making it. We hope you love it as much as we do!
